The GCB Symposium 2024 organizing committee is pleased to welcome you to our new event website. Here you will find more detail about the objectives of the event, the speakers and the schedule. Key dates are listed here, as well.

You can also explore content and see the participant list. Additionally, you will register and submit your abstract and preentations (once you have received your assignments) directly through this website.

This new website provides a platform to organize virtual interactive poster sessions for those of you who wish to make your poster virtually available (to gain interest and more visiters to your paper poster) in addition to being available on site.

Objectives

The event objectives are:

  1. Allow participants to present their research to their peers.
  2. Stimulate insightful discussions and feedback.
  3. Increase networking opportunities and collaborations.
  4. Meet top researchers in the many fields making up the GCB.
  5. Broaden participants understanding of other research fields.

About the event

We are very pleased to invite you to the 17th Annual GCB Symposium. This will be the 2nd year following the Covid-19 pandemic the event will be live on site at the University of Bern, von Roll buildings, Fabrikstrasse 6 & 8, 3012 Bern, Switzerland. The event will take place on the final Thursday in June, on June 27, 2024.

    Prof. Dr. Timm Schroeder

    Timm Schroeder investigates the molecular control of mammalian stem and progenitor cell fates at the interface of biology, medicine, informatics, and engineering. He pioneered bio-imaging approaches for live long-term single cell quantification, and combines molecular cell biology, imaging, software development and hardware engineering.
    Timm studied Biology, PhD work in Munich/Germany and Kyoto/Japan, postdoc in Munich and Kobe/Japan. Principal Investigator at Helmholtz Center Munich late 2004, tenured 2008, director research unit Stem Cell Dynamics 2011. Since 2013 full professor at ETH Zurich, Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (deputy/department head 2015-19) in Basel/Switzerland.
