About ISAL

Overview and General Information

The International Symposium on Automotive Lighting (ISAL) began in 1995 with a small gathering at TU Darmstadt.
What started as a single-room meeting has grown into a leading international conference held at the modern congress center darmstadtium.

Every two years, ISAL brings together lighting engineers, researchers, industry innovators, and regulatory experts to exchange knowledge and present the latest advances in automotive and road lighting. The unique combination of academic insight and industrial expertise fosters lively exchange, encouraging breakthroughs that move innovations from the laboratory to the road.

By connecting research and industry, ISAL continues to drive progress toward safer, more energy-efficient, and more intelligent vehicle lighting.
