XXVIIth ISM Graduate Student Colloquium

The XXVIIth Graduate Student Colloquium of the Institut des Sciences Mathématiques will take place at McGill University in May 2025! This colloquium brings together the community of graduate students in mathematics from all of Quebec’s universities for a weekend each year. During the event, participants have the opportunity to attend five plenary sessions, to present their own work, and to take part in social activities.

This website will be updated with information about the plenary sessions, the schedule, accommodation and transportation.

General information

Dates : From Friday May 23, 2025 (16:00) to Sunday May 25, 2025 (14:00)

Location : McGill University and UQAM

Registration fee : 30$

The registration fee includes all meals from Friday evening to Sunday morning.

Please note: Each participant is responsible for booking their own accommodation and transportation. These costs may be partially reimbursed directly by ISM.

Student presentations

Graduate students are invited to present their work on a mathematical topic of their choice. Presentations are 40 minutes in length, followed by a five-minute question period.

*Please note that it is not required to give a presentation to participate in the conference.

Affordable accommodation offers are available near the McGill University.

Royal Victoria College: Dormitory style rooms: each private room with one single bed; shared bathroom facilities on the floor. Student Rate $79 per night plus taxes.

Hotel style residences: bedroom with private bathrooms, air conditioner, cable TV, housekeeping services and including a continental plus breakfast:

Carrefour Sherbrooke: $164 per night plus tax for single or double (1 or 2 persons per room).

La Ciatdelle: $209 or $164 per night plus tax for single or double (1 or 2 persons per room).

Transportation
