This second part will focus more on the digital image. What is a digital image, understand the basics of image analysis, digital image ethics and how to report microscopy experiments.
Date: Friday June 7th - 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Location: NIF and classroom.
Description:
Imaging and and analysis may be affected by many issues in both SEM and TEM. instrumental alignment and stability may detrimental affect both imaging and analytical results. Accelerating voltage and beam current can be vitally important in attaining correct and representative outcomes. This workshop will discuss parameters that may affect best practices and aid in choosing the best conditions for you instruments and samples. Participants may submit questions before the session.
Speakers: NIF staff and technical support from EM companies.
Registration capacity: 10
Date: Friday June 7th , 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Location: Carleton, TBD
Registration capacity: 10
During this workshop we will present several case studies. Workshop participants will be invited to submit their own 3D images and image processing objectives (for example, segmentation, meshing and mapping, video making, etc.) ahead of the workshop. Then, at the workshop, we will present the processing recipe and will discuss the alternatives. Between 6 and 12 case studies will be analyzed.
This workshop is being jointly held with the Japanese Society for Microscopy (JSM), with this year's focus being on electron beam analysis. Registration is free but required - please visit here more details regarding the program and registration.
