Instructions for Presenters
Instructions for Oral Presentations
All oral presentations should be 12 minutes long plus 3 minutes for questions.
The MSC 2024 meeting will be attended by a variety of researchers, most of them not working in your scientific field of expertise and a large number not familiar with the techniques you will be presenting. Please make your presentation accessible to the largest audience possible by starting with a general basic introduction (2-3 first slides) and finishing with a take-away message that is accessible to everyone.
Speakers should send their “Powerpoint-compatible” presentation by June 3rd to msc.smc.2024@gmail.com.
If it is not feasible, the presentation should be available on a flash drive or on the “cloud”.
For Apple/Mac users, we will try to connect your laptop directly to the AV system, but we cannot guarantee that it will work. We strongly advise to have a “Powerpoint”-compatible presentation saved on a flash drive or on the “cloud”.
The laptop available will be an ASUS laptop.
The presentation will be displayed on a Sharp 80” TV screen. HDMI, VGA and DVI outputs will be provided.
Authors will have an opportunity to preview their presentations in the symposium room before the start of the session. Please arrive at the assigned symposia room at least 15 minutes before the beginning of your session and check whether your presentation runs correctly.
Instructions for Poster Presentations
The title of the paper and the name and affiliation of the authors should be clearly written at the top of the poster.
The poster should have large legible text and figures, and describe the results in a manner that would be clear to a reader in the author's absence.
Poster set-up can start as soon as Tuesday June 4th after 10:00 AM.
Each poster will need to fit within a 4'x6', Portrait orientation. Velcro will be provided (push pins will not be accepted).
No A-V equipment will be provided for ANY poster presentations
Posters should be removed on Thursday evening (June 6) before 2:00 PM. Posters remaining on boards after this time will be discarded.
The poster session will be held on Wednesday, June 5 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM in conjunction with a Cocktail Reception.
Poster presenters should remain at their poster during the poster session.
Please note that the MSC does not permit any type of recording (photography, video, audio, etc.) of lectures, posters, tutorials, workshops and commercial exhibits at the MSC 2024 without prior written permission of the MSC or the individuals concerned.
