Venue: Carleton University - Ottawa

The meeting will be held mainly at Carleton University, nicely located in Ottawa, at the confluence of the Rideau Canal and the Rideau river. The conference will be at Richcraft Hall.

Breakfasts and coffee breaks between scientific sessions will be held in the open hall adjacent to the conference room and on the outside patio overlooking the Rideau river. Lunches are not provided, but several options are available on campus.

Note: There might be some Lunch'n Learns provided by our sponsors, but we do not have details at this point.

Accomodations (limited) have been secured for the participants for June 3 - 7 at the Teraanga Communs building, just few meters from Richcraft Hall. The rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Two styles of room are available:

Traditional: Traditional style residences consist of one or two single beds per room, which share a washroom with the adjoining room. All bedrooms are furnished with desk(s), chair(s), a vanity and sink.

Suite: Suites consist of two or four bedrooms, each furnished with one bed, a desk and chair and share a common space (equipped with a fridge, sink, table and chairs) and private washroom.

Most of the workshops will be on campus, except the ones at FIBICS (Tuesday) and at NRC (Friday) workshops,

How to get to Carleton University:

Via Highway 417

Highway 417 runs east/west through the centre of the City of Ottawa. Exit Highway 417 (also called the “Queensway”) at Bronson Avenue. Follow Bronson Avenue south approximately 2 kilometres. The campus entrance will be on the right at the intersection of Bronson and Sunnyside Avenue.

Via Highway 416

Hwy 416 connects Hwy 401 (interchange near Prescott, Ontario) to Hwy 417. Follow Hwy. 416 to Hwy. 417 (East). Follow Hwy. 417 (the “Queensway”) and exit at Bronson Avenue. Follow Bronson Avenue south approximately 2 kilometres. The campus entrance will be on the right at the intersection of Bronson and Sunnyside Avenue.

Arrival by Train or Bus

The 15-minute taxi ride from the Ottawa train station (Via Rail) to Carleton University’s Residence

OCTranspo‘s new Light Rail System - The OTrain.

The O-Train provides service to Carleton University from the transit stations at Bayview (Lebreton Flats) and Greenboro (South Keys) with stops at Carling and Confederation Heights.

You can take Bus/LighTrain.

The taxi/Uber ride from the Ottawa Airport to Carleton University’s Residence Commons will take 15 min.

Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (Montréal-Trudeau) (ADM)
Montreal is two hours by car from Ottawa.

1-Choose Ottawa as final destination and you arrive by plane.

2-Take the train (Via Rail) and use the discount coupon. You will then have to take the bus/Light train to go to Carleton University.

3-Take Taxi/Uber. But it will be quite expensive.

4-You can take a bus that will bring you to the Ottawa train Station.

Toronto Pearson International Airport (GTAA)
Toronto is approximately five hours from Ottawa by car. We suggest that you fly from Toronto to Ottawa (less than one hour flight). Be sure to reserve your flight in advance.
