NEBEC 2025 Emerging Investigator Award

The Northeast Bioengineering Conference (NEBEC) 2025 is proud to announce the Emerging Investigator Award, designed to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of bioengineering by junior faculty. This award celebrates innovative research, impactful teaching, and leadership in advancing the boundaries of bioengineering.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must hold a tenure-track or equivalent faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.

  • The applicant must be within the first five years of their faculty appointment at the time of submission.

Submission Requirements:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV): Including a list of publications, research funding, awards, and leadership and DEI activities.

  2. Cover Letter: A brief statement (2 pages max) highlighting your main achievements in research, teaching and service before and after establishing your independent laboratory.

  3. Research Abstract: to be presented at NEBEC 2025, Emerging Investigators Session.

Please upload all three documents as a single PDF named “last name_EIA_NEBEC 2025”.

Award Details:

  • The recipient will be invited to deliver a 15 min talk during NEBEC 2025.

  • A certificate will be awarded, and the conference registration fee will be waived.

  • The winner will be featured on the NEBEC website and in promotional materials.

Deadline for Submission: February 10th.

Applicants to this Award are also welcome to submit their abstract for a Poster or Oral Communication through the regular Abstract Submission Tab, to have a chance to present their work at the conference even if they are not selected for the Award.
