Students: How to Register for PNW LSAMP Conference 2022
You will need to both 1) register for the conference and, for students presenting their research at the poster presentation, 2) submit your research abstract and upload your poster.
The submission process has several requirements--they are key to getting your materials uploaded so they display correctly and showcase your research!
Registration Checklist
- Register for the 2022 PNW LSAMP conference on the Fourwaves Pages. You must register and submit your poster by April 1.
- After registering, Fourwaves will send you a confirmation email with instructions to activate your account. When you receive the confirmation email go to the very bottom of that email where you will find the information you need to access the activation page. Do this.
- If you will present a poster at the conference, complete your abstract submission form no later than April 1. You will need your project title, the names of all of your project co-authors, and your abstract.
Don’t forget to click the “save form” button in Fourwaves to save your abstract submission.
PROJECT TITLE: Your project title should use title case capitalization. The Fourwaves title field cannot accommodate special characters (italics for Latin names, superscripts, subscripts, Greek characters, etc.).
CO-AUTHORS: Please make sure that your research project mentor has reviewed and approved your submission. Your research mentor and all project co-authors should be listed as authors. When listing your institution please do not abbreviate (for example, use "Washington State University" not "WSU" ).
ABSTRACTS: Abstracts are limited to 350 words or fewer. The abstract field can accommodate special characters but not built-in Microsoft Word equations. You may type your abstract text directly into the form text field and use the formatting buttons as needed or copy and paste from a Word or Google document.
- Poster upload does not need to be completed at the time of abstract submission, but all posters must be uploaded to submission applications by April 1.
Tip → Save your work: If you come back to your form after submitting it to edit your application and upload your poster, don’t forget to click the “save form” button after you have uploaded your poster.
Funding sources: Please note that ALL Posters should acknowledge funding sources, including PNW LSAMP. For example — "The project described was supported by the Pacific Northwest Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation through the National Science Foundation.
Accepted file formats for posters: jpeg, png, or gif
What about other file formats? The Fourwaves platform we are using for the conference does not accept pdf or pptx file types. If these are the file types with which you built your poster, you will need to export your poster as an image such as a jpeg, png, or gif. Please read the Fourwaves help center article "How can a participant upload a poster and other presentation material" for more details.
Maximum poster file size: 30 MB
Poster aspect ratio: Landscape format is ideal, but portrait format works as well
Revising your submission: Follow the instructions provided in the Fourwaves help center article "How to update your existing submission or registration form" if you need to make any other revisions to your submission form.
- You may upload additional figures you would like displayed in your presentation entry along with your poster.
