Keynote Speakers

The following lecturers have been invited:

  • Mr. Nicholas Kalavrezos

    Mr. Nicholas Kalavrezos

    Head and Neck Centre at University College London

    Nicholas' clinical practice includes ablative and reconstructive surgery for the head and neck with a special interest in bone sarcomas and functional outcomes following reconstructive surgery. His clinical practice also includes surgical treatment of salivary gland tumours as well as thyroid surgery. Nicholas' research interests include applications of “tissue engineering” in head & neck reconstruction. Nicholas is a founding member of the “Centre for Reconstructive Surgery” at University College London and holds a Senior Lecturer post at the same Institution. He is also a member of the “Face Transplant Group” based at Royal Free Hospital aiming to perform the first face transplant in the UK. He has joint research projects in the Nanotechnology Lab of UCL on “tissue engineered bio-scaffolding” aiming to replace defects of the head and neck with tissue- engineered based micro-vascular flap reconstruction. The FORTE flap is a paradigm to this direction. Nicholas lectures regularly at national and international meetings and he is the President of the European Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (EACMFS).

  • Dr Vladimir Machoñ

    Dr Vladimir Machoñ

    Department Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty Hospital Prague Prague, Charles University, Czech Republic.

    Dr. Vladimir Machon is a leading oral and maxillofacial surgeon based in Prague, specializing in advanced reconstructive procedures, TMJ pathology and implantology. He is known for his expertise in handling complex cases, often collaborating with international research groups. Dr. Machon practices at a prominent medical facility, contributing both as a clinician and a consultant in surgical innovations.

  • Dr Emanuele M Zavattero

    Dr Emanuele M Zavattero

    Dirigente Medico S.C.D.U. Chirurgia Maxillo Facciale Dipartimento di Scienze Chirurgiche A.O.U. Città della Salute e della Scienza di Torino

    Dr Zavattero studied medicine and specialized in oral & maxillofacial surgery in Torino. He obtained a PhD in applied technologies in surgical sciences and is adjunct professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin, School of Bioengineering. He devides his interests between patient specific implant surgery, preprosthetic surgery, trauma and orthognathic-orthofacial surgery.

  • Dr Luigi A Vaira

    Dr Luigi A Vaira

    Università degli Studi di Sassari, Dipartimento di Medicina, Chirurgia e Farmacia

    Dr Vaira specializes in advanced oral surgery, implantology and pre-prosthetics; plastic and aesthetic surgery of the face, treatment of temporomandibular disorders, cervico-facial oncology, treatment of nasal pathology and paranasal sinuses.

  • Dr Zoe Nicolaou

    Dr Zoe Nicolaou

    Cyprus Cranio Maxillofacial Center, University of Nicosia Medical School

    Dr Nicolaou specializes in orthognathic surgery and treating craniofacial syndromes. She collaborates with the Cyprus Center for Clefts & Facial Deformities (MEDICLEFT), working with a team to provide comprehensive care.
