Moderated by Rebecca Bartley, Ethan Kavanagh-Day, & Mikayla Hanlon The conference will feature a panel of professionals who will discuss their career paths after completing an undergraduate degree in psychology. Our panelists highlight how the path to a career in psychology may not be straightforward, but it can be very rewarding. Dr. Etta Brodersen, is a registered psychologist who works primarily within the Youth Court assessment unit at the IWK hospital, completing risk assessments on youth awaiting sentencing for criminal offences. She also works in private practice, conducting adult ADHD assessments. Dr. Brodersen completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of New Brunswick and her graduate degrees at Simon Fraser University. Jennaecia Lewis, is a middle school science teacher, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator. Ms. Lewis was a biology teacher in the Caribbean before completing her undergraduate degree in psychology at Saint Mary’s University. Kathleen Hyland, is a research and statistical officer with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice, and a member of the board of directors for the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia. Ms. Hyland completed an undergraduate degree in psychology at St. Francis Xavier University and a Master’s of Science in Applied Psychology at Saint Mary’s University.
