VALORIZATION CHALLENGE

The first step of this challenged required that candidates produce a news release of approximately 400 words, that highlights the relevance and benefits of their research project while following specific guidelines and recommendations.

As a complement to today's presentations, we invite you to check out the news releases produced by the three candidates of this challenge: Sophie Ehresmann, Benjamin Ouimet and Laura Quirion.

You will find previews below, followed by the links to download the full versions.

Preventing type 2 diabetes, one omega-3 pill at a time (EN)

Omega-3 fatty acids, a unique type of fat found mostly in fish, have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. People living with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) have dysfunctional fat tissue that is accompanied by chronic inflammation. Not only does the Faraj team aim to treat common risk factors for T2D using omega-3 fatty acids, but they also want to uncover the underlying mechanisms which have remained elusive for so long.

Unlocking the Key to Cancer through Fundamental Research (EN)

Cancer progression frequently occurs due to genetic modifications in RAS proteins. To fight against RAS-driven cancers, Jean-François Côté and his research team at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute, along with other Canadian researchers, is working to build fundamental knowledge necessary for the development of new therapeutic strategies.
