Attending the SI Expo

The 2025 SI Expo will take place April 9th, 2025. Classes are suspended that day. The event is open to all Dominican students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, families and community members.

Presenting at the SI Expo

The SI Expo is a showcase of student work. All current students (undergraduate or graduate) from any Dominican University department/program are invited to present their research, scholarship, creative projects, or experiential learning. The SI Expo showcases students’ best work from a broad range of disciplines and may pick a preferred format:

Option 1: Poster presentation (provided template)

* for internships only students can request smaller poster template if they wish by emailing ursci@dom.edu

Option 2: Lightning Talk: 10 minutes + 5 minutes reserved for questions (PowerPoint)

Option 3: Standard Talk: 20 minutes + 5 minutes reserved for questions (PowerPoint)

Option 4: Panels (minimum of 4 students): 45 minutes + 10 minutes reserved for questions (PowerPoint) *panels can include creative projects/performances

Students must have a faculty or staff sponsor for the presentation. They should consult with their sponsor on presentation format and to craft an abstract of 200 words maximum describing their planned presentation.

Presentations can have more than one author, however, the Primary Student Author will submit an abstract for the presentation.

Important: Prior to submitting an abstract, students must register for the SI Expo event.
