3. Wounds and lymphedema: prevalence and management

In a review of multiple international studies involving over 21000 patients, the overall prevalence of wounds in persons living with lymphedema was 32.8%. Prevalence ranged from a low of 2% to a high of 73.6%. Wounds are prevalent in chronic edema of the lower extremity. In this session an approach to management with a focus on the updated Consensus Document on Wound Infection will be reviewed. Case studies will be presented.
