Members of the Institute have opportunities to participate in the advancement of effective nuclear materials management through technical paper presentations, technical division and committee participation, and standards development. The INMM provides an ideal forum for interacting with the international nuclear materials management community at the industry and government levels. The Institute also encourages the improvement of the qualifications of those engaged in nuclear materials management through high standards of professional ethics, education and performance and the recognition of those who meet such standards.

The INMM is a nonprofit, international, professional organization that includes policymakers, analysts, educators, students, managers, engineers, scientists and technicians dedicated to providing assurance that nuclear materials are properly protected, managed, handled, stored and used for purposes approved by treaty or law.
