Water and people: community-based film productions in Nunavut

The movie session presents three short films that gravitate around the topic of water. ‘Under the Sea’ brings us at the bottom of the ocean to explore the concern of a local hunter who has observed less and less seal near Kangiqliniq. ‘Living Waters’ presents through the eye on an Inuit Elder traditional fishing practices in the Padlei river located near the community of Taloyoak. ‘Imalirijit’ is an award-winning short documentary following the journey of a young Inuk-researcher studying water quality near Mittimatalik in the midst of climate change.
