The State of Unleaded Fuel to Reduce Lead Emissions and Next Steps
Session Chairs: Darlene Yaplee and Justin Cook Speakers: Zachary Burch, Naples Airport Authority Eric Peterson, Santa Clara County Airports Peter Kirsch, Kaplan Kirsch Rockwell Ralph Iovinelli, FAA (Unable to present) Session Slido: 3349349 As society strives toward a more sustainable future, the transition to unleaded fuels to reduce lead emissions presents a complex set of challenges. This session will provide an in-depth exploration of the key factors influencing the adoption and availability of unleaded fuel, with a focus on the barriers to uptake and how airports can play a pivotal role in supporting the transition.

21st Century Noise Office: Leveraging and Handling Technological Advancements
Session Chairs: Betty Sierke, Gregory Maxwell, and Tim Middleton Speakers:Bert Ganoung, SFO Doug Ferrier, Envirosuite Slido Code: 3317119 In the last two decades, staffing has decreased at many airport noise offices, yet concerns over aircraft noise have significantly increased. This has resulted in noise offices doing more work with fewer resources. Staff continue to be pressed to prioritize day-to-day functions, often sacrificing more innovative analyses and projects that have the potential to benefit communities. This session will discuss new developments for incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into airport noise offices, how it can optimize their day-to-day operations, and examine how an airport handles AI-generated concerns or requests. The audience will hear from leading experts involved in the research, development, and implementation of these technological advancements and from established airport users who have first-hand experience as early adopters of these solutions.

NASA’s Quesst and Advanced Air Mobility Missions – Updates and Exploring Community Engagement Strategies
Session Chairs: Darlene Yaplee, Jonathon Rathsam Matt Kamlet , NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center Sidd Krishnamurthy, NASA Langley Research Center Slido Code: 2046670 NASA conducts research to benefit the public, support regulatory agencies like the FAA, and advance the aviation industry. Using NASA’s Quesst (en route supersonic noise) and AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) missions as case studies, this session will explore how grassroots advocacy communities can engage in direct dialogue with NASA. The goals of the session are to share information on NASA’s Quesst mission and the human noise response portion of the AAM mission, build relationships, proactively address potential concerns, and aid NASA's efforts to develop plans for effective engagement with the public regarding NASA research.

Future-Ready Cities: Preparing for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)
Session Chairs: Darlene Yaplee, Tara Finnigan, Tim Middleton Speakers: Peter Kirsch, Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell Billy Gross, City of South San Francisco Slido Code: 2027523 Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is an emerging sector introducing new technologies, vehicles, and added dimensions to airspace management, while also raising significant environmental, community, and land use considerations. With both opportunities and challenges—and many unknowns—this session will explore how cities can develop strategies and make informed decisions and policies to position themselves and their communities to shape the future of AAM rather than simply reacting to it.

Flight Schools Challenges and Opportunities
Session Chairs: Betty Siercke, Cindy Gibbs, and Gregory Maxwell Speakers: Parker Northrop, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott CampusGreg Maxwell, PHL Zach Gabehart, APA Slido Code: 2732398 For the past four years, the aviation industry has been experiencing a pilot shortage. As the industry recovers, flight schools continue to gain demand to train the next generation of pilots. This panel of experts will discuss the challenges this uptick has presented to airports and flight schools. This session will also explore opportunities to bolster collaboration and education among stakeholders while balancing learned lessons from unintended consequences of measures meant to create experienced pilots and assist neighboring communities.
