Visual Media for Research, Education, and Communication

Dec 4th
20:30 - 21:30

A necessary part of any scientific research is communication with partners and the public. This is especially important in participatory research in which community partners are engaged at all stages of the research. As a concept, “media” has become much broader than historical methods such as journal articles and conference presentations. In the course of a research program, audiences may also be engaged in film, graphics, art, fashion, online content, and other forms.

This panel will include researchers and content creators, in a discussion of media as research tools as well as forms of communication. This includes dealing with legacy and archival issues, especially as the form of the media themselves continue to evolve. This panel will be moderated by Ashlee Cunsolo, Founding Dean of the Labrador Campus.
