WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Nine prizes, including six cash prizes, will be awarded to participants whose presentations stand out for their excellence:

Oral Presentations: $350 for the top 2 oral presentations and an "Audience Choice" award.

Posters: $300 for the top 3 poster presentations, a $100 prize for the best start-up project presentation (no results), a $150 prize for the best physical oceanography poster presentation from CMOS (Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society), and a People's Choice Award.

COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for a cash prize, you must:

● Be a master's or doctoral student and a member of Québec-Océan

● Respect the presentation rules (see To present)

● Present your poster to the members of the jury and answer their questions, during the two poster sessions scheduled on February 6th, 2023

To be eligible for a People's Choice Award, you must:

● Present a research project that is integrated into the Québec-Océan scientific program

● Respect the presentation rules (see To present)

● Present your poster to the participants and answer their questions during the virtual poster sessions

PRESENTATION EVALUATIONS

The jury, made up of members of Québec-Océan, will evaluate the presentations and posters eligible for the competition based on the following qualities:

● Scientific: originality and excellence of the research

● Didactic: clarity and effectiveness of the written and oral demonstration

● Visual: readability and balance of the presentation.
