COCE 2025 Registration
Welcome to the registration for the Conference on Communication and Environment (COCE 2025)! Below on this page, you’ll find step-by-step guidelines to assist you through the registration process. Please note that the registration process will navigate you to the IECA website.
*In-person registration for COCE 2025 is now sold out, as we have reached the venue’s maximum capacity. Only virtual registration remains open, offering access to selected parts of the program. Note: VIRTUAL REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON FRIDAY, JUNE 20.
As a virtual attendee, you will have access to:
All virtual sessions, scheduled at the beginning and end of each conference day. These sessions are clearly marked as “Virtual” in the program and most will be recorded for later viewing.
Select hybrid sessions, including some workshops, which are also marked accordingly in the program.
The Welcome Ceremony and Opening Keynote Presentation, all of which will be livestreamed.
In addition, virtual attendees will have full access to the Fourwaves platform, where you can explore the full list of presenters and participants, join discussions, and network directly with others attending the conference.

Important:
• Presenters must acquire or renew their IECA membership for 2025 to register for COCE 2025.
• We strongly advise all COCE 2025 attendees to review visa requirements and processing times as early as possible. Visa applications can vary significantly based on your country of residence and the type of visa needed. For more visa information, please visit here.

2. We recommend using the same email address you used to submit your proposal through the Fourwaves platform.
3. Once your membership is approved (some types require approval), access the online store to purchase your COCE registration.
4. Find COCE Tickets under the “Event Registrations” category.

1. Log in to your profile and follow the banner to renew your membership for 2025.
2. We recommend using the same email address you used to submit your proposal through the Fourwaves platform. If needed, you can update your email after logging in to your profile.
3. Once renewed, access the online store to purchase your COCE registration.
4. Find COCE Tickets under the “Event Registrations” category.
5. 2024-2025 members are eligible for a special rate on COCE 2025 registration fees. To claim this rate, please request a promotion code by emailing admin@theieca.org.

1. If you are attending as a non-presenter, please register as a guest on the registration page. Guest registrations require approval, and due to time zone differences, it may take up to 24 hours for approval. Please allow time for this process.
2. Once approved, access the online store to purchase your COCE registration.
3. Find COCE Tickets under the “Event Registrations” category.
4. Students and LIC participants: To claim your special rate on COCE 2025 registration fees, please request a promo code by emailing admin@theieca.org.
COCE 2025 | Convivial Experiences
1. Graduate Student & Early Career Pre-Conference Works (Sold out)
Date: June 23, 2025 - Art Farm Birchs Bay
Fee: $35 USD
A day to network, explore a sculpture trail, engage with expert-led Q&A, and take part in interactive sessions. Includes a wine tasting before the official opening.
2. Post-Conference Deep Ecology Workshop (Sold out)
Dates: June 28-29, 2025
Sliding Scale Fee: $150-$600 AUD (depending on means)
Facilitated by John Seed and Tema Milstein, this immersive retreat will offer transformative deep ecology experiences, including the Council of All Beings.
Note: The payment for this post-conference event will be processed in Australian Dollars (AUD), not US Dollars (USD).
3. Excursion: Next Stop Antarctica (Sold out)
Date: Wednesday, 25 June 2025
1.00-3.30pm
Fee: $20 USD
Engage with Hobart’s deep Antarctic connections—from historical expeditions and industries to contemporary research and tourism—before heading to the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington to reflect on Tasmania’s glaciated past and its role as a gateway to the Southern Ocean.
4. Nature walk with the Tasmanian Land Conservancy (Sold out)
Date: Wednesday, 25 June 2025
1.00-4.30pm
Fee: $20 USD
Discover conservation in action at Tinderbox Hills Reserve, home to the endangered forty-spotted pardalote and a model for land restoration and community engagement.
5. Hobart Rivulet Walk (limited spots available)
(No cost)
Date: Wednesday, 25 June 2025
1.30-3.30pm
This free excursion gives you an opportunity to spot a platypus and see the home of Tasmanian beer. This easy walk follows Hobart Rivulet upstream from the city to the foothills of kunanyi / Mount Wellington.
Carbon Offset Contribution
As part of our commitment to sustainability, a portion of the net proceeds from COCE 2025 will be donated to the Tasmanian Land Conservancy (TLC). This organization protects Tasmania’s unique ecosystems by purchasing and managing private land. Your participation in COCE 2025 will directly support these conservation efforts.
