The 2024 IARSLCE Conference is taking place on October 2-4, 2024 at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice on the University of San Diego’s campus, 5998 Alcalá Park, San Diego, CA 92110. Click here for directions to the USD campus.

Navigating the Schedule

If you know the presentation title or presenter's name, click on "Presentations" to do a search. To view the schedule broken down by session titles and types, click "Full Schedule."

How do I register?

Register for the conference here. You do not need to be an IARSLCE member to attend; however, current members do receive discounts on registration. If you aren’t sure if your IARSLCE membership is active, email admin@iarslce.org. If you need to renew or become a member, click here to join.

Alliance institutions receive five discounted conference registrations. If your institution is a member of the IARSLCE Alliance, please register with your institutional email address so we can verify your affiliation. See list of participating institutions here.

Are scholarships or discounts available?

We worked hard to keep conference costs low this year and have reduced the cost of registration for students, community partners, and international attendees. Additional discounts are available to members of IARSLCE and our Alliance institutions.

The Graduate Student Network (GradSN) has also launched a call for applications for the IARSLCE Graduate Student Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to support travel expenses for graduate students attending the 2024 IARSLCE Conference.

To apply, please review the call for applications and complete the IARSLCE Graduate Student Scholarship Application Form by the deadline of July 27, 2024.

How do I request an official invitation letter?

We can write letters of invitation for attendees who will be presenting at the conference. Please email conference@iarslce.org with your name and your presentation title, and a letter will be written for you.

My proposal was accepted, and I can no longer attend the conference. What should I do?

Email conference@iarslce.org with your name and the title of your presentation.

Will there be free wifi access?

University of San Diego’s open and free wireless network, usdguest, is available across campus for guests.

What to bring
In order to reduce our waste, we are not printing hardcopies of the conference program. Please save the conference website on your phone so you remain aware of the schedule and session locations.

A note for presenters
If you are displaying slides (Lightning Talks and Research Papers only) don’t forget to bring your presentation uploaded on a flash drive, or you’ll be able to access your presentation via the internet (e.g. email, Google Docs, Dropbox).

Where can I stay?

We are partnering with the Dana Hotel for this year's conference. You can reserve a room at The Dana at a discounted conference rate of $159/night. Book online or call 800-445-3339 and mention the “IARSLCE Conference.” A morning and afternoon shuttle from The Dana to the Kroc Institute campus will be provided.

For additional options, the University of San Diego and Bartell Hotels offer discounted room rates at San Diego’s premier hotels. Click here for more information.

Getting there

For participants who are driving to campus, click here for directions. We recommend entering USD via the West Entrance (on Linda Vista Road, West of the Main Entrance) and parking in the West Parking Structure or West Lot. There are 11 pay stations (one on each level and two near the tram pick up area) in the West Parking Structure. The price for a full day of parking is $8.

To get to the Kroc Institute where the conference is taking place, walk up Marian Street (a hill) and it will be on your right hand side at the top of the hill; or you may take the free USD campus tram that runs every 7-10 minutes. Visit USD’s website for detailed information on arriving to campus. For an interactive map of USD’s campus, click here.

For participants staying at or near the Dana Hotel, we will be providing a morning and afternoon shuttle between The Dana and the Kroc Institute.

What is your refund, transfer, and cancellation policy?

100% refund until August 1, 2024 and 50% refund from August 2-September 1, 2024. No refunds will be issued beginning September 2, 2024. No refunds for no-shows.
