When and where is the 2024 IARSLCE Conference?

The 2024 IARSLCE Conference is taking place on October 2-4, 2024 at the _____ on the University of San Diego’s campus, ADDRESS. If you are driving, there are many parking options available on the uptown campus. For more information on parking, click here. Tulane's campus is also easily accessible via the St. Charles streetcar line from downtown. Download the LePass RTA app to ride and pay your fare in advance. If traveling by streetcar, be sure to allow for 30-45 minutes of transit time.

How do I register?

Register for the conference here. You do not need to be an IARSLCE member to attend; however, current members do receive discounts on registration. If you aren’t sure if your IARSLCE membership is active, email admin@iarslce.org. If you need to renew or become a member, click here to join.

If your institution is a member of the IARSLCE Alliance, please register with your institutional email address so we can verify your affiliation. See list of participating institutions here. Contact your campus lead for a special Alliance promotion code.

Are scholarships or discounts available?

We worked hard to keep conference costs low this year, and as a result, do not offer scholarships at this time. We have reduced the cost of registration for students, community partners, and international attendees, and additional discounts are available to IARSLCE members and our Alliance institutions.

Are meals included?

On Day 1, we will provide a boxed lunch for the Opening Keynote, and we will have a cash bar during the Poster Reception from 5-7pm. On Day 2, we will begin with coffee and tea during Lightning Talks followed by the Awards Plenary breakfast buffet. We will conclude with our off-site reception at the ByWater Institute with food by Graze Dat, drinks by Martin’s Wine Cellar, and music by local talent, Lilli Lewis. On Day 3, we will again have coffee and tea for Lightning Talks and a Closing Keynote breakfast buffet. We will close the conference with a reception in Pocket Park with hors d'oeuvres and drinks.

For other dining needs, we recommend the LBC food court, which is on the first floor of the conference building, or The Dining Room at Malkin Sacks Commons, which is in the building next door.

What to bring
In order to reduce our waste, we are not printing hardcopies of the conference program. Please save the conference website on your phone so you remain aware of the schedule and session locations. Please also bring a reusable water bottle, as there are water filling stations situated throughout the LBC.

A note for presenters
If you are displaying slides (Lightning Talks and Research Papers only) don’t forget to bring your presentation uploaded on a flash drive, or you’ll be able to access your presentation via the internet (e.g. email, Google Docs, Dropbox).

Will there be free wifi access?

Tulane has launched a free, simplified wireless connection for Tulane visitors. The brand-new "Tulane Guest" wireless network provides all campus guests seamless connectivity. Guests can connect by selecting "Tulane Guest" from their device's wireless network options. Answer the required fields on the pop-up authentication page and select "Login."

How do I request an official invitation letter?

We can write letters of invitation for attendees who will be presenting at the conference. Please email admin@iarslce.org with your name and your presentation title, and a letter will be written for you.

My proposal was accepted, and I can no longer attend the conference. What should I do?

Email admin@iarslce.org with your name and the title of your presentation.

What is your refund, transfer, and cancellation policy?

Registrants will receive a 100% refund until August 1, 2024 and 50% refund from August 2-September 1, 2024. No refunds will be issued beginning September 2, 2024. No refunds for no-shows. To transfer a registration to a colleague, contact admin@iarslce.org by September 1, 2024.

If the conference is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, registration fees will be fully refunded; however, IARSLCE is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred in connection to attending the conference (i.e. flights, hotel, etc.).

Where can I stay?

As the conference will take place on Tulane University's campus, Tulane has compiled this list to help attendees find accommodations: Tulane University Area Hotels. Most New Orleans hotels are downtown in the French Quarter/CBD area, and Tulane's campus is easily accessible via the St. Charles streetcar line from downtown. COVID Policy

IARSLCE is committed to protecting the health and safety of all who attend the 2023 Conference at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. While masking is not required, a limited supply of masks will be provided. Attendees with health concerns are highly encouraged to mask. As the fall is a busy conference season, we encourage you to test before arriving in New Orleans and to stay at home if feeling unwell. If you test positive for COVID during the conference, you should notify IARSLCE Director, Tiana Nobile, by email, admin@iarslce.org, with details of which sessions you have attended and your close contacts. You should also plan to isolate and wear a mask as directed by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. If you test positive and are unable to attend, please contact us with a letter from your health provider and/or proof of positive test, and we will issue a refund.

We will continue to monitor public health related issues. IARSLCE reserves the right to make adjustments to our policies in order to protect our community’s health and safety, as advised by public health professionals.
