Other accommodations

Los Angeles is a sprawling, conglomerate Southern California city where one can expect to spend any amount of time in traffic. The city has a public transportation system, however it can be very time consuming to navigate such a large city this way.

If you choose to find accommodation other than Hotel Angeleno, we highly recommend staying as close as possible to Getty Center or close to a bus line that will bring you directly to the museum.

The neighborhoods which would be convenient are (in order from closest to furthest): Brentwood, Sawtelle, Westwood, and Santa Monica.

There are only a few bus lines that reach the two Getty Museum entrances which will be open for you on the day of the symposium. Plan accordingly or we suggest taking a taxi, Uber or Lyft.

Other accommodations

How to reach the Getty?

Two entrances will be open to the Symposium attendees:

- Southgate (recommended) located on Church lane at 5min walking from the Angelino and Luxe hotel. You will have to indicate that you're a symposium attendee to security.

- Northgate (visitor entrance) located on Sepulveda boulevard.

Shuttles will bring you from the two entrances to the top of the hill where the Getty center is located.

Passenger Drop-offs, including Lyft and Uber

Cars or vans carrying 15 or fewer passengers may drop them off at a designated turnaround area located outside of the parking structure (Northgate) or located just after the gate (Southgate). Passenger pick-ups are allowed in the same area.

Public Transportation

Metro bus line 761 stops at the Getty Center entrance at the intersection of Getty Center Drive and Sepulveda Boulevard.

Get complete route information from Metro (Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority): call (323) GO-METRO ((323) 466-3876) or use the Metro Trip Planner.
