Instructions for Presenters
Instructions for Oral Presentations
Plenary talks are 50 minutes plus 10 minutes Q&A
Keynote talks are 25 minutes plus 5 minutes Q&A
Other oral presentations should be 12 minutes long plus 3 minutes for questions
The MSC 2026 meeting will be attended by a variety of researchers, most of them not working exactly in your scientific field. Please make your presentation accessible to the largest audience possible by starting with a general basic introduction (2-3 first slides) and finishing with a take-away message that is accessible to everyone.
We will be truly fastidious with the schedule to allow fellow microscopists to switch between parallel sessions, if they wish.
Your session chair will reach out to you to collect your slides or to test the connection with the AV system
For Apple/Mac users, we will try to connect your laptop directly to the AV system, but we cannot guarantee that it will work. We strongly advise to have a “Powerpoint”-compatible presentation saved on a flash drive.
HDMI, VGA and USB3 connectors will be provided. Contact your session chair if you have an exotic port.
Authors will have an opportunity to preview their presentations in the symposium room before the start of the session or in the morning, 8-9am. Please arrive at the assigned room at least 15 minutes before the beginning of your session and check whether your presentation runs correctly.
Instructions for Poster Presentations
The format of all posters is VERTICAL. Posters will be mounted 2 per board, side-by side. The size of the board is 4x7 feet. Therefore, one poster can be up to 4 feet in height and up to 3 feet in width.
If you want to print your poster in Montreal before the conference, this printing shop (5 minute walking distance from the venue) provides quick and reliable services: https://copienova.com/
We do not have a special deal with them and there are no discounts. Every presenter takes care of printing their own poster.
The poster should have large legible text and figures, and describe the results in a manner that would be clear to a reader in the author's absence.
Poster set-up can start as soon as Tuesday May 26th.
Your allocated poster board will have a number attached to it. This is the number of your abstract in the abstract booklet.
Four tacks are provided to stick your poster on the board, however if your poster is considerably heavy please bring some extra tacks for yourself.
No A-V equipment will be provided for ANY poster presentations
Posters should be removed by Friday (May 29) in the afternoon. Posters remaining on boards after this time will be discarded.
There are 3 general poster sessions:
Two afternoon sessions on May 27 and 28, during lunch, 12:15-13:30
One evening session on May 27, 17:30-19:30. Beverages will be offered free of charge to facilitate scholarly interactions and networking during the session.
There will be a professional photographer around during the evening poster session. If you object being photographed, contact the organizers.
Please note that the MSC does not permit any type of recording (photography, video, audio, etc.) of lectures, posters, tutorials, workshops and commercial exhibits at the MSC 2026 without prior written permission of the MSC or the individuals concerned.
