Welcome to the 2025 Northern Ontario Community Concierge and Connection Event!

We’re excited to host you at this year’s NOSM U Community Connection  Event - a gathering that brings together Northern Ontario community representatives and NOSM U east campus and region residents and students to explore future learning and work.

This event is all about creating connections, giving you a chance to build community together and with each other in a  relaxed setting with space to mingle, enter into conversation and share a meal together.

Our hope is that this event will spark meaningful conversations, allowing communities to showcase the unique opportunities that they have to offer for future learning and future practice. From locum roles to permanent positions, this is a space where we hope we can  connect residents and students  who are seeking to understand how they might make a difference in communities across the North.

Our shared goals for the evening:

• Build Connections
  Create a space where recruiters and community leaders can form genuine connections with residents and learners who are curious about future learning and working in Northern Ontario.

• Highlighting Career Opportunities
  Give residents and students a look at the meaningful career paths and locum opportunities that exist across Northern Ontario, from small towns to larger communities.

• Supporting Community Amongst NOSM Learners
  Bring together residents for social time and a good meal after academic time, and then welcome UME learners to create an opportunity for shared learning and community.

For community representatives:

Our shared day together provides opportunity to come together in a collaborative way to learn about the emerging issues and opportunities in recruitment and retention of physicians you have identified in our NOSM U context.

Residents

• Dinner after SIMS (5:30-7:00 pm)

• Community Connection Gathering (7:00-10:00 pm)

• Partners welcome at no cost

• Accommodations: The deadline for booking the blocks of rooms at the Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites has now been removed and general bookings are open to the public.

• The Radisson Hotel block has been extended to October 20, 2025.

Community Recruiters

• Community Recruiter Professional Development Day (9:00-4:30 pm).

• Resident Dinner (5:30-7:00 pm).

• Community Connection Gathering (7:00-10:00 pm).
