Prisma Health Research Recognition Program

Purpose | The Prisma Health Research Recognition Program recognizes extraordinary efforts among Prisma Health personnel. With this Program, individuals are recognized, acknowledged, and rewarded for their contributions to the Prisma Health research community.

Eligibility Requirements for Nomination | Any individual involved with the research enterprise at Prisma Health may submit a nomination. Specific example(s) of the nominee’s efforts and contributions should be submitted by the nominator as this is required for the Review Panels to adequately evaluate the nominee. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Deadline for Nominations | September 30, 2023 - The deadline for nominations has now passed.

Award Presentation | Awards will be announced on October 24, 2023

Award Details | Five awards are available, which recognize individuals with varying qualities/characteristics and eligibility requirements. The details of each award are outlined below.

Emerging Research Leader Award - Team Member

Nominees exemplify the following characteristics:

• Actively pursues research learning opportunities both internally and/or externally.
• Identifies areas of improvement within research and proactively assists with change management.
• Enthusiastically shares skills and expertise with others.
• Participates on committees and/or special projects to expand knowledge and interactions with others.

Eligibility: Front-line research personnel (Prisma Health employed). Not eligible to receive this award are directors/managers/supervisors, providers/physicians, and Office of Research personnel.

Emerging Research Leader Award - Provider/Physician/Principal Investigator

Nominees exemplify the following characteristics:

• Contributes to their field through scholarly activities.
• Actively pursues research learning opportunities both internally and/or externally.
• Has an outstanding track record of sharing his/her research expertise with others within Prisma Health as well as externally.

Eligibility: Provider/Physician/Principal Investigator (Prisma Health employed and/or leased/contract).

Excellence in Research Management Award

Nominees exemplify the following characteristics:

• Actively mentors team members that directly and/or indirectly report to the manager/supervisor as well as peers.
• Pursues research learning opportunities up to and including research certification.
• Fosters positive relationships by being a resource for team members/peers and provides opportunities for advancement to others.

Eligibility: Front-line research manager/supervisor (Prisma Health employed). Not eligible to receive this award are directors, providers/physicians, and Office of Research personnel.

Office of Research Services Exceptional Service Award

Nominees exemplify the following characteristics:

• Frequently recognized for their distinguished service to the research community at Prisma Health.
• Approaches his/her work in a way that extends beyond the ordinary fulfillment of a position’s duties.
• Demonstrates the attributes of a research administration professional and proactively met specific challenges within research administration.

Eligibility: Office of Research Services personnel (Prisma Health employed). Not eligible to receive this award are front-line research personnel to include to include directors/managers/supervisors, Office of Research Services directors/managers/supervisors, and providers/physicians.

Research Champion Award

Nominees exemplify the following characteristics:

• Assists front-line research personnel to perform work more efficiently and effectively.
• Removes barriers to research conduct at the institution.

Eligibility: Any Prisma Health team member (Prisma Health employed). Not eligible to receive this award are research directors/managers/supervisors, front-line research personnel, Office of Research Services personnel, and providers/physicians.

Patient Engagement Studio Champion

1. Presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond in support of patient engagement studio and its activities. (Patient Engagement Studio staff and faculty are ineligible to receive this award.)
