ICACS & SHIM Conference 2026

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the joint 31st International Conference on Atomic Collisions in Solids (ICACS) and the 13th International Symposium on Swift Heavy Ions in Matter (SHIM), which will be held on the beautiful island of Brač, Croatia, from September 27 to October 2, 2026.

The ICACS series began in Aarhus, Denmark (1965), and the SHIM series in Caen, France (1989). After their first overlap in Kyoto, Japan (2012), the two communities held joint conferences in Caen (2018), Helsinki (2022), and Canberra (2024). We are delighted to continue this successful collaboration in Croatia.

The ICACS-SHIM 2026 Conference will bring together leading scientists from around the world to exchange the latest results and ideas on:
• atomic collisions in solids and swift heavy ion - matter interactions
• material modifications and chemical and biological radiation effects
• applications of ion beams in research and industry
• development of experimental and computational tools and techniques

The conference will foster open discussions, collaboration, and networking, with particular emphasis on connecting early-career researchers and students with experienced scientists in the field. Further details on conference topics, important dates, venue, and program will be published on the official conference website, which will be regularly updated.

We look forward to welcoming old friends and colleagues—and meeting new ones—on the island of Brač, a jewel of the Adriatic renowned for its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
