Boost your scientific communication skills with this dynamic, two-part workshop!
In the first part, discover the fundamentals of scientific graphic design through a practical visual analysis exercise. Learn how to structure text, images, and information effectively, find inspiration, and choose the right colors to create impactful, accessible visuals tailored for scientific presentations.
In the second part, dive into the principles of data visualization. Gain strategies for presenting complex research clearly, explore the best tools to use, and learn how to optimize your visual choices. You’ll also analyze real examples, identify common mistakes, and apply the “10 Commandments of Data Visualization” to sharpen your communication skills.
Join us for an unforgettable acoustic concert featuring Soleil Launière and Jean-Christophe Lessard. Together, they will share their powerful connection to music by interpreting each other’s songs, offering a journey into the heart of Innu and Québécois cultures — the true roots of Quebec.
Join us for an exciting Silent Auction that runs throughout the week and concludes on Thursday, June 5, just before the banquet! This is your chance to bid on a diverse array of enticing items. Don't miss out—place your bids and be the highest bidder by the end of the week to take home the item of your choice!
Unleash your creativity with our engaging Draw Your Research activity, available all week and closing on Thursday. This unique opportunity invites participants to transform their research into stunning visual art. Share your artistic expressions, and let your peers vote for the best drawings! Excellent prizes await the top three entries, so bring your imagination and show us your vision!
The networking lunch is a moment for students to ask professors questions about their academic path and to get advice on how to pursue a career in academia. To meet new people, registered mentees and mentors will be randomly assigned to a table for lunch.
Join us for a discussion that will explore actions that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within science. Panelists will introduce themselves, share their lived experiences, and provide examples of positive change and ongoing efforts to create inclusive environments. Audience members will then have the opportunity to ask questions to discuss ways that our community can work to prevent disparities for the next generations of scientists.
