Welcome to the 12th edition of the Journée Phare!

A totally free congress made in Quebec

The Journée Phare is a totally free Quebecois congress in Health Sciences gathering hundreds of participants each year from all the universities in Quebec and abroad. Firmly anchored in the french-speaking scientific community, the Journée Phare continues to solicit strong interest among students and researchers.

The first edition has been founded in 2008 by 2^nd and 3^rd cycle students from the Université de Sherbrooke. During two days, the event usually includes plenary conferences from renowned guest speakers, student oral presentations and posters, a conference dinner presented by an industry guest and a cocktail, all aimed at highlighting the most recent scientific innovations.

A virtual twelfth edition focused on networking

For the 12th consecutive year, the Journée Phare is reinventing itself to offer you two days of virtual congress in collaboration with Fourwaves.

On February the 4th 2021 will be held the « Carrières et Formation en Sciences de la Santé » workshop where you will be able to interact with a panel of biomedical actors.

On February the 5th 2021, Prs Sylvain Chemtob (Université de Montréal) et Hugues de Thé (Collège de France) will conduct two conferences. These conferences will be accompanied by student oral presentations and posters.

A global vision of health sciences

Historically, the Journée Phare was focused on interesting discoveries in pharmacology (the study of how a drug affects a biological system and how the body responds to the drug). However, lately, the Journée Phare scope enlarged and keeps growing continuously. This event now tackles multiple research domains such as biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics, molecular and cellular biology or neurosciences. The congress' goal is to highlight high-level research from all the health sciences domains and to promote new collaborations within participants of different backgrounds.

Our goal is to gather students, research assistants and researchers from the academic sector and the industry, to talk about research in a welcoming and convivial atmosphere, thus favoring networking.
